The Staff Provider, Pediatrics directs, supervises, and coordinates the clinical care of the Pediatrics team under the supervision of the Vice President of Medical Care.

- Directly supervises and provides the delivery of medical and clinical services in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Partners to facilitates and lead in the development of organization wide best clinical practices, guidelines in accordance with evidence-based medicine
- Actively works positively, flexibly and cooperatively in a team model within and across departments to accomplish the goals of the organization
- Meets regularly with management, nursing and other professional staff to discuss clinical and administrative issues, specific patient care problems, offering solutions to problems and identifying areas where policy should be developed
- Provides direct supervision and mentoring to the pediatrics providers
- Serves as a clinical resource to assist in day to day problem solving in coordination with management and nursing to ensure efficient, high quality care with an emphasis on customer service
- Monitors and evaluates performance and implements corrective actions when needed to achieve organizational priorities
- Delegates projects, work, new roles and responsibilities to the clinical staff as needed
- Assists in the recruitment and retention efforts of the organization
- Seeks to understand and meet the needs of patients, families, co-workers and vendors with respect, thoughtfulness and cultural humility
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication
- Knows, understands and adheres to all organizational policies
- Works cooperatively and effectively with the VP of Medical Care, VP of Clinical Operations, clinic management and nursing to ensure efficient, timely, respectful and high-quality patient care services
- Partners with the Executive Leadership Team and clinic management to monitor costs and revenues of the health centers and make recommendations for any necessary corrective actions as in response to emerging / unplanned needs
- Participates in peer review and makes recommendations for improvements to the process
- Actively participates in quality improvement activities, including the development of clinical guidelines
- Actively participates in the teaching of residents, medical students and other health professionals
- Serves as an advisor to other clinical services such as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, optometry, nursing or Behavioral Health/ Mental Health
- Participates in leadership meetings as designated by the VP of Medical Care, with a focus on clinical care and site needs
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role may occasionally come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is very active and requires standing, and/or walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee may need to lift and/or move items over 20 pounds.
