Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Associate to join us as a full time (37.5 per week) Copywriter.



Under the leadership of the Director of Communications, the copywriter will be responsible for translating the organizations strategic communication needs into compelling messaging for patients, clients, donors, corporate supporters, activists and organizers, and community leaders in order to fulfill our organizational mission, vision, values, and business and fundraising goals.

  • In collaboration with the Director of Communications, execute on a comprehensive strategic communications plan that fulfills departmental communications goals for our diverse audiences.
  • Create clear, timely, and persuasive messaging, especially around reproductive health care and sexual health education, for key communication materials including the annual report, press releases, media alerts, op-eds, talking points, event communications, speeches, brochures, donor communications, one-pagers and other key collateral.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to craft strategic and results-driven advertising and social media messaging with the goal of attracting and retaining audiences.
  • Collaborate with other content creators across the organization to build a deep understanding of overarching communication needs and to ensure messaging is comprehensive and dynamic.
  • Revise, edit, and proofread all content as needed or directed by internal stakeholders including the office of the president.
  • Liaise with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) on key messaging, communications strategies, and the latest PPFA talking points, and incorporate as appropriate.
  • Work within tight deadlines and respond to feedback in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Stay on top of marketing and communications trends and offer new ideas for creative and agile messaging and communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelors degree preferably in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in communications, marketing or other related work
  • Strong writer with significant storytelling aptitude, an ability to always promote our value proposition, and a passion for writing about reproductive health.
  • A dedicated commitment to Planned Parenthoods mission.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • A self-driven staff member who can work under tight deadlines, use personal discretion, and deliver polished products in a timely manner.
  • Strong collaborator, highly strategic and creative
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to receive and give feedback in a constructive manner
