We are looking for an energetic, driven and commercially-focused Trade Marketing Manager to join our team! This position will lead trade and shopper marketing programs for key national, regional, and local retail partners. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure execution of shopper marketing programs to maximize brand awareness, sales growth, and increase in-store velocities. They will develop our Trade Marketing and Shopper Marketing strategies, provide corporate directive by utilizing and synthesizing available data, provide Marketing program advice and guidance, as well as create materials and sales tools for the Sales team. The Trade Marketing Manager is a key liaison between the Sales and Marketing Departments in optimizing the return on investment of the company’s trade spending and marketing activations for in store customers, enabling the achievement of the company’s strategic imperatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Soylent’s Trade & Shopper Marketing strategies and collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to lead execution with retail partners

  • Accurately prepare, maintain, and track the trade marketing budget and ensure ROI for each program

  • Review, pull, and synthesize data from a variety of outlets including SPINS, Retailers, Brokers, and Consumer surveys in order to make recommendations on planning and programs for each major retailer in the Soylent network.

  • Create comprehensive retailer strategies to align with overall business objectives 

  • Conduct and leverage retail analytics, using data (Nielsen/IRI/Spins, SDC, Retail Portals, Amazon) to identify trends and gaps in the market and provide corporate direction based on insights. 

  • Engage internal and external stakeholder audiences, as required (including facilitating strategic sessions and/or integrated stakeholder engagement activities) 

  • Develop critical commercial selling tools (i.e., 1pgrs, selling decks, etc.) for the sales team on a planned and ad-hoc basis. Develop with the marketing team best-in-class presentations, from brainstorming, concept development, research, visual/graphic to final execution and presentation.

  • Build and initiate strategic marketing and advertising plans (including media planning and placement for print and digital) as well as provide a measurement program to outline performance metrics, targets, benchmarks, etc. Creative and campaign development 

  • Improving brand presence and campaign execution across trade through excellence in in-store planning, execution and tracking in alignment with the annual marketing priorities.

  • Leading and implementing channel specific marketing strategies and plans for assigned retailers.

  • Conceptualizing and executing trade promotions and rolling out impactful in-store campaigns in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.

  • Leading activation programs with partners to improve brand visibility

  • Prepare trade promotional plan in designated channels with key customers

  • Coordinate communication of price, product and pack changes

  • Develop and implement display vehicles that drive traffic to the Soylent brand

  • Development of retailer positioning and messaging platform Marketing strategy and planning 

Professional Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or other relevant studies.

  • 5 years+ experience in the consumer or food & beverage industry is required.

  • Proven analytical, financial, and strategic planning capabilities

  • Experienced in developing and implementing trade marketing programs, with national retailers and working directly with their marketing teams.

  • Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI/Spins, SDC, Retail Portals, Amazon).

  • Experienced in organizing and executing in-market trade events.

  • Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Results-driven and able to work with the cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self- starter, and be able to work independently. Strategic thinker.
