MIND Research Institute is currently seeking a driven, innovative, and motivated problem solver to add to our team. The candidate should be persistent in the face of roadblocks and able to dispatch them efficiently, pulling in others as needed. The Quality Engineer Associate must have excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create detailed and accurate bug reports in a bug tracker for developer and Triage team
  • Test and report issues using a test management tool, help with troubleshooting issues, clearly communicate bug descriptions with test data and verify fixes
  • Review, test and report on discrepancies between requirements and software
  • Proactively identify problems with requirements (lack of clarity, inconsistencies) while testing, and communicate these issues early to help course-correct
  • Assist in preparation of test data and procedures for ensuring the software products meet organization standards and end-user requirements
  • Document and report progress on testing, defects found and problem resolution to management
  • Attend Triage meetings to report on findings and answer questions
  • Communicate effectively across functions; have the ability to work well with Product, Development, IT and others as necessary
  • Collaborate with developers and independently execute assignments
  • Automate UI test scripts and maintain them as the software evolves
The following technical skills are necessary for success in
  • Experience with Jira or other issue tracking software
  • Familiarity with HTML CSS and JavaScript, and using Chrome dev tools
  • Knowledge and experience of the network traffic between a browser and a web server
  • Knowledge and some experience with automation techniques and tools

This position is fully remote and reports to the Director, Sustained Engineering.  This role can be anywhere in the United States, as long as it’s not too far from an airport for an occasional visit (after the world opens up) and you don’t mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport, even from a distance.
