POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Strategic Projects Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the strategic capacity of the agency, including system implementation, staff training, and resource development. The Strategic Projects Coordinator will also help build and formalize relationships with new and existing government and private foundation funding agencies to increase their engagement with La Familia and encourage continued and increased partnership.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership Coordination

  • Build and maintain relationships with other non-profit organizations, foundations, and funders to design and implement initiatives that support mutual goals to support the community.
  • Represent La Familia with strategic community partners and community-facing groups.
  • Support opportunities to position La Familia as a sector leader with strategic partnerships, special events, speaking engagements, and media placements.

Initiative Design and Early-Stage Implementation Support

  • Write and adapt guiding documents for new programming and initiatives, including job descriptions, program models/workflows, quality improvement processes, training documents, and program manuals.
  • Liaison with the funder regarding contract implementation, including attending trainings and planning meetings.

Grant Development

  • Identify and track appropriate funding opportunities to maintain and enhance services.
  • Monitor trends in the funding landscape, including local and state policy.
  • Manage and/or support the submission of the grant proposal process, including work with internal stakeholders on proposal concept, narrative writing, generating and gathering proposal attachments, proposal budget development, and proposal submission.
  • Support the development of contract and memorandum of understanding language and manage the execution process to formalize relationships with subcontractors and other partner agencies.

Software & Systems

  • Support the administration, configuration, and training of agency systems and software applications including Salesforce, Slack, and RingCentral.
  • Assist with data entry projects, user account setup, report generation, development of training tools and resources, and technical support.
  • Participate in the planning and analysis of business and program requirements for configuration changes and managed packages

Other Duties:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other partner-facing team members at La Familia.
  • Continuously improve the agency’s capacity by attending trainings, monitoring trade publications, and attending relevant events and sharing and using new information.
  • Track and regularly report on key metrics within each function area.
  • Collaborates on special projects related to agency objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO and CSO.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • REQUIRED* writing sample AND cover letter in order for the application to be reviewed
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy, public health or related degree required.
  • 1-4 years’ experience developing written documents for a stakeholder audience.
  • Experience developing county, state, and federal grant proposals, preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Project management skills to orchestrate complex projects, and ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment
  • Non-Profit and Community Based Organization experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates and models excellent “customer service” orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.
  • Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed.
  • Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.
  • Proficient using MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Acquires or maintains proficiency in using Google Drive products, including Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Valid CA Driver’s license
