SUMMARY: Manages retail store engaged in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties personally or through Business Partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

  • Assists in the hiring and terminating of employees.
  • Plans and prepares work schedules, and assigns employees to specific duties.
  • Supervises employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for Accountant, or performs work of subordinates, as needed. Has complete and full responsibility for store P&L.
  • Orders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.
  • Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices, as well as company policies.
  • Answers customer’s complaints or inquiries.
  • Locks and secures store. Deposits daily receipts at bank.
  • Reviews on a daily basis, employee job performance, communicating both positive reinforcement as well as addressing work deficiencies as they occur.
  • Reviews store sales goals, gross profit, store payroll versus budgets on a daily basis making corrections as needed.
  • Supervises all store activity including, but not limited to, sales, installation, alignment, mechanical activity, inventory, ordering, shipping and receiving, cash handling and administrative functions, safety and development and training.
    Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining company standards.
  • Assists in all jobs from store clean-up, to shipping/receiving, storing merchandise, to tire service, sales, and store management.
  • Meets or exceeds company standard on customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of a store.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, telephones, drives cars, torque wrenches, air guns, balancing equipment, tire changers, alignment equipment, and power lifts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a related field preferred; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must have strong command of the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must understand financial statements, including profit and loss. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license.
