SUMMARY: Responsible for the approved sale of product and services, including but not limited to, tire, tire service, wheels and accessories, alignment, warranties and mechanical services. Must have communication skills in recommending proper product for complete customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

  • Greets customer on sales floor and determines make, type, and quality of merchandise desired. Suggests selections that meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article, such as quality and utility.
  • Responds to incoming telephone calls from prospective and existing customers, quoting prices, providing information, and solving problems in accordance to The Tire Choice’ phone procedure.
  • Provides cost and time estimates and makes appointments for tire installation, brakes, alignment work, and related services. Prepares estimates and work orders. Presents and reviews TCVI’s to customers.
  • Prepares final invoice and receives payment. Processes warranty claims on all products and services. Strong knowledge of inventory control, performing daily tasks of shipping and receiving of goods
  • Orders merchandise to fill customers’ needs.
  • Processes all daily paperwork.
  • Drives to other locations to pick up parts or supplies.
  • Drives customers’ vehicles.
  • Does tire installation.
  • Attends required training meetings.
  • Assists in the clean-up of the store, making bank deposits, etc.
  • Assists in unloading and receiving tires parts, wheels, and related products, and the storing of merchandise.
  • Does all nightly close out final day end closing when scheduled or opening procedures when scheduled.
  • Assist in Inventory procedures
  • Ensures the protection of company assets.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EQUIPMENT USED: Uses computer calculator, photocopier, fax machine, telephones, torque wrenches, air guns, balancing equipment, and power lifts.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Some college preferred. Experience in retail sales (not restricted to automotive).

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with customers in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
