Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with tax and financial advisors to create integrated planning opportunities for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
  • Lead in-person and virtual client meetings, presenting deliverables to clients and providing a support tax advisory role for financial advisors.
  • Review and Sign prepared Individual and Business tax returns and tax projections .
  • Assist in securing and retaining client relationships as a dedicated tax advisor for Cerity’s financial planning teams through built in business development funnel.
  • Mentor and encourage fellow tax advisors to advance their skill sets.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting or related field - required
  • CPA/EA/JD designation required
  • CFP or Series 65 designation encouraged
  • 5+ Tax Seasons in public tax accounting
  • Experience using Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite (UltraTax) - preferred 
  • Master at Microsoft Excel, providing clear outputs for analysis and comprehension – preferred 
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Keen, consistent attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to independently analytically solve issues both proactively and reactively 
  • Effective at managing various projects and taking them to completion by firm deadlines
  • Positive attitude, team player and professional appearance
  • Adaptable to evolving processes 
  • Must accept and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with the mind-set of getting the job completed with quality and on time delivery
