Alongside clinical care, researchers and teachers from Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education & Research are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County while providing critical workforce to the state.

BTS: Provides clinical and community-based services for consumers with dual-diagnosis of mental health and developmental disabilities. Works with inter-disciplinary team, as well as families and resources.

CCAM: Provide CCAM individual served with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional material to student ability levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

BTS:

  • Assist consumer in identifying and articulating his/her requests and needs for services and supports.
  • Negotiate and facilitate the array of services and supports needed to address the persons goals and desired outcomes as identified.
  • Provide behavioral intervention services in (facility, in-home/community training and support) to assigned caseload.
  • Responsible for ensuring planned services and supports are implemented and appropriately documented.
  • Connect consumer with appropriate services and supports, as needed
  • Document all meetings and notes pertaining to consumer plans
  • Establish Service Plan, along with team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

CCAM:

  • Collaborate to develop target goals with the supervising clinician
  • Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials.
  • Participate in staff and consumer meetings on a regular basis
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing
  • Manage student behavior and administer discipline, including intervening in crises
  • Document interactions and progress of students
  • Implement correct ABA procedures with therapeutic interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FOR CCAM:

  • Knowledge of issues and challenges relating to autism spectrum disorders
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Service field required.
  • Masters Degree in Human Service field preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in services for persons with developmental disabilities required.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.

CCAM:

  • Bachelors degree in a direct related field: Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Child Development, Special Education, Etc.
  • One year of working experience with children with autism or PPD-NOS, preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate, preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to work with reports and numbers.
  • Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding of Metrocare programs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
