ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analysis of Fire Protection Systems
  • Technical design of new Fire Protection Systems (suppression, fire detection, alarm)
  • Application of appropriate building and fire codes to design criteria 
  • Conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential fire hazards
  • Develop Summary of Code Requirements
  • Use of engineering design software such as REVIT             
  • Manage multiple staff and determine staffing needs and recommend project personnel
  • Inform team members about technical details
  • Maintain positive client relationships

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in REVIT
  • Project/Senior Engineer with 5-10 years of experience with Fire Protection/Plumbing Systems
  • PE License, a plus 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulations, ordinances, application forms, technical plans, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Clear and concise writing and communication skills. Ability to speak effectively to staff and superiors, clients, regulatory agency staff and outside technical personnel.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as coordinate geometry, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate engineering calculations, proportions, interpolations, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Ability to perform tasks in a logical, organized manner and sequence.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate (EIT) required. Certified Plumbing or Fire Protection Designer certificate for P/FP engineering.

Project Engineer Mechanical

Qualified candidates will be required to provide MEP engineering design and drafting under the supervision of the lead Engineer. Position calls for someone with a very technical aptitude as well as the ability to lead and manage self, work within large project teams and adhere to project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities Include preparation and /or design of:

  • Proportions of building systems and design projects
  • Detailed design calculations, including engineering loads and analysis
  • Drawing lists, project sheets, system design
  • Read and review drawings for accuracy
  • Perform site investigations, identify and trace out existing systems

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years experience with Mechanical Building systems
  • Experience in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT Preferred

Project Engineer Electrical
