Position Overview:

As Nearpod and Flocabulary's Associate Audio Producer you will play a significant role in the audio production of a wide variety of projects for both Nearpod and Flocabulary. This includes beat selection, lyric editing, tracking vocals, vocal editing, mixing and mastering as well as providing mix notes, sound design, music composition, etc. You will also work closely with the curriculum team and video team to ensure that our educational songs and videos are effective, engaging, inclusive and high-quality. The Associate Audio Producer will report to our Audio Production Manager.

Who You Are:

You are someone that has exceptional communication and organization skills and has the ability to work with and comfortably communicate with producers, engineers, musicians, rappers, teachers and teammates.  You are a hip hop fan as well as a fan of other music genres and have a great sense of music and rhythm. You’re able to juggle multiple projects at the same time, providing routine updates and managing expectations of other teammates. You are confident in your skills but humble and a team player. You’re guided by your empathy and compassion.


Our Ideal Candidate will:

  • Edit lyrics and scripts, collaborating with both our curriculum team, writers and lyricists

  • Recording audio for a wide variety of projects in the studio for Flocabulary and Nearpod

  • Produce artists in the studio, providing clear performance notes

  • Organize and keep track of all audio files

  • Mixing and Mastering

  • Provide mix and sound design notes for engineers

  • Support production of the Week in Rap

  • Send follow up and update emails to contractors

  • Search for new talent



Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associates Degree

  • 3+ years experience in music production

  • Proficient in operating Logic X Pro and Ableton Live

  • Familiarity with music production including digital editing, mixing, and mastering

  • Ability to communicate across department as well as with contractors and educators

  • Ability to manage multiple moving projects simultaneously

  • Strong eye for detail

  • Great attitude

  • Great team player
