Company Overview:

At Nearpod, we believe teaching is the most important job in the world. Every day, we reach students through our learning platforms on Nearpod.com and Flocabulary.com. We have diverse backgrounds, but a shared goal of putting teachers and students first in everything that we do. We have won numerous awards including Edtech Digest’s 2018 Company of the Year. Recently, we were acquired by Renaissance to support the shared mission of accelerating learning for all. We’re looking for people with a lot of hustle, a lot of empathy, and a desire to do something meaningful. We've adopted a remote-first culture, and our diverse team is based across the US.

Location: Remote

Position overview:

Nearpod is currently experiencing rapid growth in the market and within our own portfolio of offerings. Part of that growth includes a new math program launch, and we need math education experts to help get the word out and to drive sales. In this role, you will have three key job responsibilities:

  1. Drive revenue growth through pre-sales product presentations and ongoing customer engagement with large schools and districts, and with passionate educators across the United States

  2. Pull from a deep understanding of math instruction across the K-12 spectrum to provide internal and external training on our math solution, which will also require a deep understanding of the Nearpod platform.

  3. Provide strategic guidance to the sales, marketing, and development arms of the business based on interaction with customers, current knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation, and personal knowledge of best-practice math instruction in a digital world.

Make no mistake, while we are looking for passionate educators, this is at its heart, a sales role. Through your direct interaction with customers—both new and existing—and with our Sales, Customer Success, and Support teams, this role is expected to have a direct impact on our brand awareness and growth revenue. We are a hard working team, but a passionate one, and we are looking forward to adding to our growing Nearpod family.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Gets our industry: You’ve worked as a math instructor, curriculum coach, or administrator in the K-12 space. And regardless of position, you have a demonstrated ability to win the hearts and minds of students, parents, educators, administrators, and state- and district-level leadership

  •  Gets EdTech: You’ve got experience teaching or running programs in both traditional and hybrid or digital-only instructional environments

  • Gets our customers: You reflect and live our company values which include, not only a passion for education, but a passion for supporting a population of students and teachers who represent diversity across age, race, cultural background, economic status, gender, disability, politics, and sexual orientation.

  • Gets things done: You are a problem solver, a critical thinker, and an idea-generator. You stay ten steps ahead of our obstacles, and have solutions for them long before they impact your ability to close deals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors required, Masters or higher preferred in math instruction, elementary/secondary education, or related degree program

  • 5+ years of experience providing math instruction or leading math curriculum programs at a school or district level

  • Demonstrated understanding of current industry and pedagogical trends in K-12 math

  • Understanding of current state- and federal legislation which may impact our go-to-market strategy as it relates to math curriculum products

  • Ability to communicate persuasively with all levels of a school or district, from Superintendents to Classroom Teachers

  • Outstanding presentation and written/spoken communication skills

  • A compassionate approach to working with customers at various stages of the sales or post-sales journey

  • Technical Skills:

    • A basic understanding of email, calendar, and chat software

    • Experience working with presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides

    • Experience working with remote communication tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or GoToMeeting preferred

    • Experience working with content production tools, such as TechSmith Camtasia/SnagIt or Adobe Premier preferred

*Please note, all candidates reaching an advanced stage in the interview process will be required to provide a virtual presentation and writing sample.
