This is an entry-level position designed to lead to full-time Union employment. Delivery Trainees, usually referred to as Casuals," are helpers assigned to the delivery and warehouse teams. Success as an Trainee can lead to well-paid work opportunities through Union positions that may become available. Delivery Trainees are trained to handle warehouse and delivery tasks and are utilized on an as-needed basis with flexible scheduling that often (but not always) includes five and sometimes six workdays per week.
Our internal training process is designed with the goal of transitioning Operations Trainees to full-time Union Driver or Assistant Driver positions. Delivery Trainees who are successful in this role and identified as good candidates for a Union Driver or Assistant Driver position will be trained by the company to obtain their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).Possession of a CDL-Permit upon hire is a plus.
