9am – 6pm (slight flexibility), On call rotation

 

Pierce County’s first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.

 

Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Parent Partner to join our WISe program in downtown Tacoma, WA.

Function: A formal member of the WISe team whose role is to serve the family and help them engage and actively participate on the team and make informed decisions that drive the WISe process..

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use individual lived experiences to provide hope and support to families experiencing similar challenges.
  • Participate in the assessment of families and assist them to determine needs to incorporate in treatment.
  • Work in collaboration with the WISe practitioners.
  • Ability to ensure parents have a voice in the youth’s care and are active participants in the WISe process.
  • Document services provided and maintain clinical records in accordance with policies and procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
  • Participate in meetings and activities as required.
  • Provide consultation to family members as the family learns new skills to support youth’s treatment at their home and/or community.
  • Engage or connect family to resources, services, and supports for families.
  • Engage and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain effective coping and self-care strategies.
  • Demonstrate on-going commitment to developing professional skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and client information.
  • In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Have lived, personal experience as the parent of a youth with complex emotional/behavioral needs.
  • Be certified or complete training to be certified as a Peer Counselor within three months and complete WISe training.
  • Maintain registration as a counselor under chapter RCW 18.19.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with youth with behavioral health challenges in the community.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license; proof of insurance. Ability to transport youth and families as needed.
