Description

This position will assist with maintaining adherence to applicable laws pertaining to safe workplace standards, while ensuring regulatory compliance with all laws governing the industry. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Safety Officer with safety training specifically on Therapeutic Options (TO), First Aid and CPR for all staff in compliance with Agency policy and presenting QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper training for all Agency Staff. This position will provide assistance with compliance of overall environmental, health and safety issues, including inspecting sites and equipment for needed repair or maintenance. Duties include conducting internal inspections of Agency facilities and schedules external inspections for agency sites according to Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) requirements, conducting monthly meeting at the Agency’s’ Safety Committee, providing reports and suggestions to Safety Committee members and ensuring Emergency Response Plan preparedness and testing at all GLMHC facilities are completed on a quarterly basis or more frequently as need.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or other related field of study preferred. 2+ years of experience in a safety related job position. Certificate of Completion of Occupational Safety and Health Training (10 Hour required; 30 Hour preferred). First Aid & CPR Training Certificate of Completion required.
