Sign-on Bonus of $2,500(Payable in 2 parts)


Northern Rivers is seeking a Master Level Clinician/Social Worker position; the Clinician/Social worker will maintain a caseload of six families and meet with each on a weekly basis, as part of the Intensive Aftercare Prevention Program (IAPP).  IAPP provides six to nine months of intensive services to families whose children either are at risk of being removed from their homes or are already in placement. The goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement for children, provide a safe environment to return children already in placement, and prevent future out-of-home placement. This position is in Castleton and will require in-person client visits and serves Rensselaer County.


What a Master Level Clinician/Social Worker can expect at Northern Rivers:

  • As part of a clinical team, this position will identify and discuss the strengths, risk factors, and service needs that may impact the health and safety of the client/family, as well as develop treatment goals and methods.  
  • The majority of daily/weekly in-person client contact is face-to-face using COVID-19 protocols.
  • Paperwork, case management, phone calls, and meetings can be done remotely.
  • We anticipate that some mandatory work matters will require presence in the office.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:30AM - 5PM; flexible schedule with evenings. Rotating on-call schedule.


Your Experience and Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or equivalent from a graduate school program - Required
  • 0 – 2 years post-masters experience
  • Experience providing services to children and teens with emotional or behavioral needs
