The Activation and Engagement team is passionate about meeting people right where they are and to help them take their next best step. From the moment a person steps onto our property and experiences a weekend service, to becoming a fully engaged Activator, our team works to provide opportunities for people to engage with Christ, the community, and each other.

The Engagement Lead works to champion the engagement pathway and support the overall Join a Team initiative; including the implementation and maintenance of an organization-wide environment that intentionally helps people grow their relationship with Jesus. This position is perfect for an organized individual, whom God has gifted with exemplary process management, communication and team building skills, and who has a calling from God to serve in a way that encourages and helps others.

 

What you’ll be doing

Help Oversee Engagement Pathway

  • With support from the A&E Pastor, Champion the Engagement Pathway:
    • Track data of engagement vs attendance
    • Develop strategy supported by accurate and informed data to drive growth

Champion “Join a Team” Initiative 

  • Primary Vision Caster
    • Help lead out Join a Team Staff Trainings (every 6-8 weeks)
    • Cast vision around our “Young Activator Strategy” to reach 10 year target
  • Team Building Coach and Encourager
    • Sunday Presence- Be present outside of the office, on serving teams to watch teams in action and give real time feedback 
    • Have a healthy pulse on the reality of team worlds: huddles, team meetings, day to day serving culture, etc…
    • Come alongside teams- the “be with” factor. Have face time with volunteers-  you will be the person not just with staff but with volunteers. 
    • Create and Execute the Internal JAT Coaching Plan for Staff
    • Model team building through building Midweek engagement team to execute all administrative duties 
  • Staff Accountability
    • Hold accountable the Staff through onboarding process & retainment including:
      • Engagement & Attendance Reporting (6-8 weeks)
      • Quarterly Ministry Meetings with team leads
      • Oversee the collection of BG checks, Ministry Safe Training, Culture Videos, Badge Photos and Badge Printing for 1,000+ volunteers.
      • Bi-weekly I.T. meetings for constant process tweaks 

Create Activator Culture 

  • Along with Activation & Engagement Pastor, own and build the overall Activator Culture for The Crossing
  • Lead out all three Activator Events
    • This includes overseeing theme and content creation, budget, promo/ invites, schedule of the night, staff collaboration with IT, Comm, Facilities and Accounting and Ministry Leaders, booking vendors, organizing volunteer participation, event meetings, etc…
  • Lead out Join a Team Promo Sundays 
  • External Activator touch points throughout the year including zoom calls, appreciation breakfasts, insider perks, etc…
  • Continue to build out new Ministry Partnership Initiative 

VIP Process / Start Party Oversight and Integration

  • Along with Guest Services Coordinator, own the process of First Time Guests 
    • Quality control for all automated follow up and on stage communication
    • Engage in personal follow up with FTG’s
    • Track data and base new strategies off findings 
  • Own overall planning and executing of Start Party:
    • Create budget, promo plan, schedule of the night, staff collaboration with IT, Comm, Facilities and Accounting and Ministry Reps, book vendors, help lead out event meetings, etc
    • Track next steps our of Start Party to ensure healthy overall church engagement

General

  • Assist in executing church-wide events as needed
  • Assist in managing the A&E team calendar and scheduling
  • Assist in contacting and scheduling new and potential volunteers
  • Perform general office duties such as copying, filing, mailing, etc.
  • Answer / return phone calls and emails as requested
  • Purchase items for ministry as needed
  • Organize workflow and synchronize between Google Docs and Rock
  • Respond to all general ministry questions, both internally and externally, via phone and email
  • Run errands as needed
  • Other related duties as needed

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum Experience: Two years working with and leading volunteers in an equivalent church setting or non-profit organization

  • Strong technology experience (Gmail, Google Docs, Word, Excel, Rock, etc.)

  • Strong relational and team building skills to assist in leading a large volunteer team

  • Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in a related field

  • Preferred Experience: Five years working with and leading volunteers in an equivalent church setting or non-profit organization

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check

  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
