Director of Liturgical Music
Job Details

Director of Liturgical Music will coordinate with Pastor to plan, direct, oversee and manage all activities and operations related to parish liturgical music, including, but not limited to Masses on weekends, Holy Days, weddings, funerals and various other parish celebrations.
Director of Liturgical Music will work with all choir directors and musicians to plan music coverage for the parish liturgical celebrations.
Director of Liturgical Music will provide coverage for parish liturgical celebrations mentioned above as necessary.

  • A practicing Catholic with knowledge of and experience with Catholic liturgy.

  • Ability to proficiently play the piano as well as possessing accomplished vocal skills

  • Thorough practical knowledge of the music of the Catholic Church, particularly a wide-range repertoire, including Gregorian Chant, traditional and contemporary music, with an ability to lead musical worship in this wide variety of music.

  • Ability to supervise and manage schedule for the liturgical music with several parish choirs

  • Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are essential

  • Commitment to the spiritual mission of the parish

  • Experience in similar position preferred

  • Salary commensurate with education and experience
