Pay Philosophy 

The typical starting salary for this position is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, acquired skills, experience, education, and certifications/designations. This position may be eligible for annual merit increases and participation in our bonus program.

Join our team as a Corporate Counsel. In this position you will assist the General Counsel in providing guidance to all departments throughout the organization, promoting compliance with laws in all applicable jurisdictions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide legal oversight and consultation to all company departments on matters not involving claims-related litigation.
  • Anticipate and guard against legal risks by proactively identifying and resolving legal issues throughout the company.
  • Review and monitor legislative and regulatory changes, recommending new or revised procedures where appropriate.
  • Provide legal oversight and assist in supervision of regulatory examinations.
  • Responsible for preparation and review of corporate and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with all applicable statues and regulations.
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of regulatory filings and statements in compliance with applicable insurance holding company laws and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop working relationship with regulatory authorities in all jurisdictions where any corporate entity is authorized or licensed to sell products.
  • Recommend and develop company policy and position on legal issues and provide legal oversight and development of revised procedures where appropriate.
  • Provide leadership on company committees and projects and preside over such committees and projects as needed.
  • Provide legal consultation on collection and bankruptcy activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to present solutions to complex challenges, work independently, balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.

 

 

EDUCATIONS QUALIFICATIONS

  • J.D. from accredited law school.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current law license.
  • Previous legal experience with exposure to insurance coverage, regulatory and/or compliance matters.
