nature of position

This position’s primary responsibility is to review loan documents and data for accuracy that ensures delivery to our investors. The incumbent will monitor all commitments and MBS security sales to meet committed delivery dates and work closely with CHFA’s Document Custodian.   The individual must be fluent in the design and use of excel spreadsheets, create summary reports that demonstrate delivery deficiency trends, and cycle times for delivery as well as Ginnie Mae final pool certification.   A thorough understanding of various loan documents is required, including the ability to analyze and determine the integrity of data, test data files, and make corrections to meet investor requirements.  Individual must have mortgage banking industry knowledge, specific to residential lending, with a thorough understanding of the following: AUS tools, Fannie Mae Early Check, Fannie Mae ULDD requirements, Freddie Mac LQ and various other applications within the Fannie, Freddie and Ginnie Net Systems.

  • Responsible for the post funding and prior to delivery, review of all loans for eligibility to investor sale guidelines, whole loan or mortgage backed security issuer requirements, including the review of documentation to meet federal, and IRS standards
  • Facilitates the delivery of loans to Investors, familiar and adept at working with Ginnie Mae, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan delivery systems, including the coordination of the initial certification and final certification with CHFA’s Document Custodians 
  • Solid understanding and awareness of laws, regulations and guidelines to ensure proper compliance and oversight on business processes and loan delivery requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

knowledge,  skills and ability     

  • Must accurately perform the loan review process of Notes, eNotes, Note Endorsements, Note Allonge, Deeds of Trust, AKA Name Affidavits, Loan Modification Agreements, POA’s, and title policies to ensure the document meets Investor standards
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records regarding loan scrubbing activity, candidate and suspended loans with timely follow-up on corrective actions needed to flag the loan for sale to CHFA’s investors
  • Accurately identify, document and report deficiency trends
  • Ability to interpret investor guidelines, rules and periodic changes, with an understanding of the impact to workflow
  • Participates in the program design and implementation of various project teams
  • Must be keenly aware of timelines and communicate effectively with CHFA’s Ginnie Mae Document Custodian to achieve Ginnie Mae Final Pool Certification
  • Desire and willingness to be an active member of the Ginnie Mae / Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac Cross-Divisional Team
  • Works well in a team environment, by promoting positive interaction and communication with all staff members in various departments
  • Identifies process improvements on an on-going basis

experience/education

  • Associate degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business accounting, or finance is a plus  
  • Mortgage loan experience in loan origination functions, and post-closing activities are required  
  • Mortgage banking exposure to loan processing, underwriting guidelines, and loan closing experience is helpful 
  • Must be proficient in the use of Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint, and MS Word

The incumbent in this position will perform the essential functions of the position primarily in an office environment, which requires sitting at a desk for the majority of the day.

salary range

$57,036 – $79,852 + annual bonuses
