Summary

The Senior Accountant is a member of the Corporate Accounting and Finance team.  To succeed in this role, the Senior Accountant will have a strong attention to detail, as well as excellent organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills.  This position will serve as the point person for fixed asset reporting and other month-end closing and reconciliation responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting. Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with multi-division manufacturer preferred. Candidate must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and with a mid-tier financial ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). Candidate must be analytically minded and detail oriented.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote the Company’s mission and values-based culture through exhibiting Leadership, Teamwork, and Responsibility to accomplish Company objectives.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and report capital spend versus plan.
  • Maintain fixed asset system including additions/disposals, monthly deprecation, and reporting as needed.
  • Provide support for all other month-end closing and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain, oversee or serve as Admin or backup Admin for Corporate accounting add-on software (Planning Analytics, Concur, SAGE Fixed Assets, KISSFlow, Smartsheet).
  • Implement Process Improvement initiatives relating to Corporate and Divisional Accounting.
  • Assess internal controls for Corporate accounting functions, make recommendations for improvement, and develop process and procedure documents as needed.
  • Support the integration of new business units into financial reporting processes, systems, and treasury.
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision, as well as in a team setting.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Other activities, as needed, in support of the Corporate Accounting and Finance department’s functions.

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required

 

Computer Skills

  • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
