Duties / Responsibilities
- Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone and emails, scheduling patients, assisting with the completion of forms.
- Prepare for upcoming therapy sessions by organizing the treatment locations based on the patient’s needs.
- Clean and sterilize the therapy area and set up any needed equipment.
- Monitor the patient’s development during therapy sessions and make notes on how the patient is responding. These notes are used to evaluate the usefulness of specific treatments for patients.
- Help patients to move from one area of therapy to another, including assistance with walking, sitting, standing and/or pushing a wheelchair.
- Fulfill all aspects of office management.
- Assist physical therapist, physical Aide and office manager as needed.
- Perform postural drainage, percussions, and vibrations, and teach deep breathing exercises to treat respiratory conditions.
- Observation of patients during treatment(s) to compile and evaluate data on patient’s response(s) and progress. Report results to physical therapist.
- Measure patients’ range-of-motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatment or for patient evaluation.
- Document subjective information, objective changes in functional status, ROM strength, patient treatments, response to treatments, progression towards and/or achievement of therapy goals and plans for future care in accordance with standards of practice.
- Assist with writing progress and discharge notes.
Education, Licenses, Certification and Experience
To apply for this position, you would need a high school diploma or a GED. An associate degree in office management would be preferred, however, any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the job duties will be considered
Must be able to push, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of three feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 25 feet.
A valid Washington State driver's license is required and must be eligible for the Colville Tribes vehicle insurance and maintained throughout employment.
Basic Life Support, HIPAA and Privacy Act training certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Working Conditions
LRCHC has ADA compliant facilities. The position requires the ability to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. Will be required to lift 15 – 50 lbs. The position requires a mixture of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. It also requires walking, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing/pulling and other forms of physical exertion.
