Position Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies, resources, and training that align with the NewSpring's mission, vision, and values.
    • Collaborate with church leadership to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Oversee the recruitment and selection process for all staff positions, ensuring a diverse and inclusive candidate pool.
    • Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires into NewSpring’s culture.
    • Provide guidance and support to department managers on performance management, coaching, and professional development.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and grievance handling.
    • Foster a culture of open communication, respect, and accountability throughout NewSpring.
    • Conduct investigations and resolve employee complaints or concerns in a timely and fair manner.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that promote fairness, equity, ethical, and biblical conduct.
    • Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Oversee the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs.
    • Conduct regular benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on benefits enrollment, retirement planning, and other HR-related inquiries.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive HR experience preferred, with at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is desired, but not required.
  • To do whatever it takes to help the church reach its mission to see everyone, everywhere in an everyday relationship. Occasionally this will mean performing duties and tasks outside of your normal job responsibilities.
  • Uphold Biblical priorities in life, in the order outline below:

    2. Relationship with spouse (if married)
    3. Relationship with children (if applicable)
    4. Purpose in life/ministry
  • Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of NewSpring Church staff members, as defined by the Policies and Procedures Handbook.
  • Financially support the vision of NewSpring Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
