Description

SUMMARY

To ensure the Resorts upscale environment at all times by effectively and efficiently maintaining all Resort buildings, facilities, grounds, furnishings and equipment, interior and exterior, in a safe, attractive, and functional condition.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that major mechanical systems, including heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, food service equipment and electrical systems and other primary systems, remain available for use at all times.
  • Provide suggestions and input for facility improvement.
  • Ensure that major equipment remains in safe operational condition at all times.
  • Provide for equipment and building security.
  • Maintain inventory control.
  • Ensure all services to guests are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail.
        • Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat co-workers, supervisors and guests with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment at all times.
  • Consistently maintain the ability to come to work regularly and on time.
  • Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Listed below are the qualifications that represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform this job successfully:

  • Must be skilled in all facets of resort maintenance.
  • Strong communications skills required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain control of budgets.
  • Working knowledge of safety and Cal-OSHA standards are required.
  • The position requires interaction with guests and their guests in an upscale environment. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of committees, guests, guests, managers, suppliers, vendors, other employees of the Resort, and the general public.
  • Must be able to work independently.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years of progressive resort management experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related management experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related management experience.
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance skills required.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools, electric meter.
  • Ability to read wire and schematic diagrams.
  • Resort and/or hospitality experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

  • Must speak and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with guests, management and coworkers.
  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS (FOR ADMINISTRATION OR MANAGEMENT POSITIONS):

  • Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications.

 

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

  • Stationary Engineer’s license preferred, but not required.
  • Universal refrigerant license preferred, but not required.
  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
  • Valid California Driver License is required (for specific positions).
