Overview:

 

The Communications and Marketing department oversees all communications pertaining to Comme des Garçons USA and Dover Street Market USA (New York, Los Angeles). Integration and exposure within both companies and the larger global organization is very high.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-faceted individual who understands the interconnectivity between all aspects of the communications field and thrives in small fast-paced environments with strong team dynamics.

 

Key Objectives:

  • To grow CDG and DSM’s brand awareness and presence meaningfully, while contributing positively to the company’s sales
  • Develop and employ 360-degree communications strategies and stories with the Marketing Manager to effectively promote the products of CDG, DSM and those of its partners
  • Collaborate with team to ideate, concept and execute compelling campaigns, activations, events and partnerships
  • Establish CDG and DSM as leaders in the community through its messaging; respond to questions or complaints, and promote company initiatives

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Brand Analysis: evaluate and respond to the needs of CDG and DSM in partnership with Manager - campaigns, social media, advertising and marketing assets.
  • Observe and set tone for voice and design style in partnership with team and overseas headquarters. Consider strengths, weaknesses, competitors’ strategies and potential content strategies with an emphasis on calculating ROI
  • Content Ideation: constantly research and brainstorm relevant and engaging content and content formats, trends, developments to contextualize work that will deliver results for launch products and collaborative partnerships. Be ready and willing to synthesize feedback and provide constructive solutions where required.
  • Design and draft assets that share the positive and compelling attributes of brand products, creating demand and momentum for launches
  • See projects through from conception to execution in partnership with Manager; troubleshoot and negotiate with talent and legal teams where required
  • Copywriting and research for social media captions (IG, Twitter, Tiktok, Wiki, etc..), presentation formation, website, e-newsletter content. Write, review, edit and update content for company sites, social platforms and marketing materials
  • Monitor social media and company website metrics
  • Utilize basic SEO methods to increase site traffic; optimize copy, imagery and video to help content rank

 

Skills:

  • 2-3 years experience in Marketing, Communications, Design or related role
  • Strong knowledge of fashion, art, design, lifestyle and media landscapes.
  • Strong interest in and cultivation of industry knowledge, social media and community movements; should view DE&I as an integral part of their approach to work
  • Experience creating strong, engaging content. Possess excellent eye for design, photography and video
  • A portfolio of applicable outputs.
  • An understanding of SEO best practices.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing
  • Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Expertise in social media formats
  • Experience of working with CRM systems, for example Microsoft Dynamics 365. • Experience of using SharePoint.
  • An understanding of or experience in developing email marketing campaigns, preferably using Dotmailer or similar web-based solutions
