Overview:

 

An experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor is required to join our organization to take on responsibility for all activities involving the accounts payable function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process:
  • Code invoices and enter in the accounting system in preparation for weekly check run
  • Reconcile credit card/Concur entries and post in Sage
  • Circulate invoices to relevant department for payment approval
  • Ensure timely payment of all invoices, issue payment by check or wire
  • Ensure Aging’s are submitted to Elaine and Merchandising team in a timely manner
  • Supervise AP staff and assist with issues as needed
  • Train AP staff on DocAlpha, DocLink and the vouchering process
  • Work with vendors to ensure receipt of all invoices and research all payment disputes.
  • Work with accounting team to ensure timely month end close; make sure all Accounts Payable registers are in balance data is accurate.
  • Provide accounting assistance to department heads and upper management
  • Work with CFO on special projects on an as needed basis
  • Work with management accountant to reconcile intercompany accounts to identify and enter missing invoices for CDG, DSMNY and DSMLA

 

Skills:

  • 3-5+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Experience in Retail industry is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting software systems, particularly Accounts Payable and General Ledger modules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills for communicating with staff members and management
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Complete understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
