Overview:

 

The Communications department oversees all internal and external communications and marketing activities pertaining to Comme des Garçons USA and Dover Street Market USA (New York, Los Angeles). Integration and exposure within both companies is extremely high, and coordination with our global teams is daily.

 

This is an excellent role for someone who is passionate about marketing, and in particular the digital marketing and social media space, excels at generating 360-degree strategies, values critical and independent thinking and embraces the company’s unique approach to retail.

 

Key Objectives:

  • Meaningfully grow and maximize CDG, DSM and Rose Bakery’s digital brand awareness, while keeping with company visual standards and driving internal programs forward
  • Provide strategy, planning and executional oversight as it pertains to digital communications, working in tandem with press efforts, e-commerce team and international offices
  • Engage in content creation projects that will allow the company to maximize growth digitally and competitively; propose meaningful partnerships. Interface with brand partners to generate these assets
  • Celebrate and amplify our community through digital activities and outreach

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of all daily communications as they pertain to digital activities for US platforms (DSMNY, DSMLA: social media, website, e-communications, etc. and select IGs for CDG and Rose Bakery brands)
  • Oversee site experience – create a dynamic and inspiring, user-friendly experience
  • Work with Department Head on all content strategy, including research, planning, creation and execution.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports to assess and optimize performance; provide recommendations and communicate key insights to Department Head; identify issues through test-learn approach; propose and execute solutions
  • Ensure all traffic channels perform optimally by setting relevant KPIs as well as measuring key metrics; create and establish scalable CRM guidelines and best practices
  • Partner directly with head office and int’l digital teams to ensure consistent and timely communications as they pertain to all retail (core product, hype launches, etc.) and programming launches and activities
  • Collaborate with merchandising, commercial, store and special project teams to ideate programming and launches tethered to key moments in the year to drive energy creation
  • Prepare weekly and project-based digital briefs tethered to site updates, deliveries, launches; oversight of copywriting for IG captions, newsletters, site texts and other forms of brand communications 
  • Plan, oversee and execute communications cadence as it pertains to customer outreach, both print and digital; procure and manage client/subscriber lists
  • Liaise with brands, artists and collaborators for content generation and procurement of assets, relevant to events and launches; build and strengthen relationships with social media editors, digital editors and content creators
  • Work in tandem with the customer service team to ensure responsiveness for customer-facing platforms; flag areas for concern and suitable resolutions
  • Develop and maintain an ever-changing product asset calendar inclusive of future launches and programming
  • Oversee photographer and image selection as it relates to in-store installations, digital platforms and events

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Independently manage daily and seasonal maintenance of publishing, creation, curation of content on website and relevant social media platforms including Instagram and YouTube
  • Partner closely with e-commerce to launch programs, track program results, ensuring ROI and value to the business; offer long and short-term strategies and solutions
  • Evaluate the performance and efficacy of web and social media campaigns to maximize results and achieve KPIs; develop reporting and analytics structure
  • Establish scalable CRM guidelines and best practices; grow web presence to gain new online customers and improve retention rate
  • Collaborate with merchandising, commercial, store and special project teams to roll-out launches so as to drive energy creation
  • Develop digital strategies that work hand-in-hand with press executions, coverage and events; work with partner brands to execute
  • Event support and execution, with a high level of competency overseeing individual event elements
  • Educate and create awareness around the company and its values for staff, brand partners, clients and the public
  • Leverage key digital media relationships in support of press, as it pertains to digital features and social media

 

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required; 3-4 yrs experience in digital marketing and social media, CRM, SEO, PPC.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of and passionate interest in the digital landscape and best practices
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills; must be comfortable with deadline-driven tasks and solutions-oriented approach
  • Highly motivated with the attitude of a project manager who enjoys full oversight of their remit and is interested in becoming a specialist in the digital field
  • Must be team player with willingness to provide support to and interface with senior management
  • Comfort liaising with international offices, both in-house and those of our partner brands, at expeditious pace while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with industry, top-tier outlets, accounts, and community institutions; good relationships with key members of the press (print, digital, social) a plus
  • Keen eye for researching content creators and collaborators in the field; comfortability in ideating and proposing findings
  • VIPs and senior management both internally and externally
  • Strong interest in traditional Marketing work
