Digital Engagement and Development Intern

Context: The Online Engagement Team is responsible for large-scale digital advocacy and fundraising across digital channels. Our overarching goals are to raise money, grow digital audiences, and advance human rights goals.

The Online Engagement Intern will contribute to email marketing, testing, data, and reporting. The Intern will learn about email strategies, multi-channel campaigns, and CRM technologies. The Intern will acquire knowledge about the entire digital production process -- from getting copy approved, to testing, to reporting on results. 

The Online Engagement Intern will take away important skills for online marketing and fundraising strategy for large nonprofits.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern will learn how to:

  • Update donation forms and action pages
  • Assist with internal and external testing of emails, SMS, donation forms, and action pages
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting
  • Update content in ongoing campaigns
  • Identify conversion-inspiring content

We are seeking interns that are rising juniors or seniors in an undergraduate program or graduate program related to (human rights or other area of study).  We also review applicants of recent graduates who may be seeking the same type of mentorship and educational focus related to their career choice or educational background. 

The following would be beneficial for entering our program:

  • A collaborator and quick learner with a mixture of strong writing skills and technical experience
  • Background in digital marketing and/or digital fundraising
  • Some experience in one or more of the following areas: Email marketing, A/B testing, data and reporting, content development, CRM technology
  • Background in HTML, front-end development, and/or graphic design is a plus
  • Interest in deepening engagement with large-scale digital audiences on human rights
