The Community Impact Manager, Moving Toward Financial Stability will assist the United Way of Southwestern PA (UWSWPA) in meeting the goal of helping individuals and families create a path towards a financially secure future. Working in strategic and creative partnership with the Moving to Financial Stability Director and Community Impact Leadership (including PA 211 Southwest), the Manager will have oversight of a diverse portfolio of granted agencies and issues and community-focused initiatives to achieve measurable success within the investment priority of Moving Toward Financial Stability. The Manager will also play a critical role in building community partnerships and work collaboratively across all United Way departments to create meaningful community change. They will also provide end-to-end grant management, from discovery of community need to selection of funded partners and reporting outcomes.
Essential Functions
Grants Management and Subject Area Expertise

Work with Community Impact and volunteer leadership to recommend and monitor success of grants to and projects with non-profit human service agency partners aligned with the United way’s strategic goals.

Build strong partnerships, collaborate with grantees, contracted partners, and other key stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of community resources, opportunities and concerns related to helping people achieve financial security.

Manage day-to-day needs of programs and/or initiatives and elevate issues that impact partner agencies and the communities they serve.

Assess and report on relevant program and community-level outcomes and contribute to writing proposals, reports, and related material.

Keep abreast of current research and activity in the field and the systems and policy landscape related to Moving Toward Financial Stability
Communication and Collaboration

Build and foster meaningful relationships with a broad range of diverse stakeholders (such as non-profit agencies, corporate and civic leaders, labor party representatives, community leaders, and elected officials) to identify emerging challenges and work collaboratively to find innovative solutions.

Communicate and collaborate internally within and across UWSWPA departments to clearly convey and mobilize resources to support our work in the community.

Identify, lead, and/or participate in special projects related to policy or system-change efforts.

Advocate for solutions to reduce race, gender, and ability inequities within the UWSWPA, our investments and the broader community.
Additional Functions

Advocate for issues pertaining to Moving towards Financial Stability to business leaders, elected officials, and other decision makers and stakeholders.

Work with regional United Way directors and partners as needed to meet the regional expectations of initiatives and support the expansion of projects and initiatives to include the full United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania footprint.
Financial/Budgetary Responsibilities

Track and monitor project budgets in partnership with United Way’s Impact Operations and Finance Teams.

Participate in RFP (Request for Proposal) distribution and decision-making process to allocate CI funds.
