Position Title: Childcare Worker

Full/Part time: Limited Time
Salary Range: minimum wage

Summary/Objective:

As a member of the Childcare Team, the Childcare Worker will minister to families through ensuring the safety, security and supervision of children ages birth 12 years old.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside other staff and volunteers to ensure children are provided a safe and enriching environment.
  • Engage in age-appropriate play consistent with the values and mission of the church.
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment providing a clean and safe environment.
  • Follow all childcare safety policies.
  • Complete incident reports as directed by the event’s Childcare Lead.
  • Follow appropriate children check in/out procedures.
  • Interact with parents and children in a positive, safe, and consistent manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Time Requirement:

This position will be limited (between zero and twenty hours per week), as scheduled for on-going events or for special one-time events. This may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time; lift, push, pull items in excess of 50lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. Must be 16+ years old.
  2. Experience in childcare a plus.
  3. Strong attendance record with past/current employment, if applicable.
  4. Must be able to work as a team member.
  5. Must be able to use logic and reasoning to solve problems.
  6. Must possess excellent listening skills.
  7. Must be flexible and willing to work where assigned.
  8. Ability to think and act quickly during emergencies.
