Description

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Pink Jeep Tours buildings and facilities to ensure buildings are in good working order, safe, and create a positive company image for our guests.  The Handyman will perform some building repairs, ongoing maintenance, and hire contractors when needed for more complex repairs or projects. Company vehicle and tools will be provided.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the general building, grounds, and maintenance for all Sedona buildings and facilities
    • Water plants, rake leaves, trim bushes, plant new foliage, and pull weeds
    • Blow patios, parking lots, and sidewalks to maintain a clean image
    • Cleans, organizes and assists with upkeep of facilities as needed
  • General handyman duties
    • Responsible for fixing items as they break or coordinating service calls
    • Performs routine maintenance on building systems including air filters, lightbulbs, dust vents, vacuum refrigeration coils and other appliances to ensure good working order
    • Painting, drywall, and stucco repairs
  • Respond to Facilities ‘Ticket’ requests using the company’s tracking system
    • Completes repairs as requested including electrical, plumbing, break/fix, painting, hanging objects, furniture assembly, and other repairs within skillset for all buildings, public restrooms and offices
    • Hires plumbers, electricians, air conditioning, roofing and landscape experts as needed
    • Evaluates work needed, secures bids, hires service providers and ensures accurate billing for services provided
  • Seasonal
    • Seasonal preparation of heat, a/c, and evaporative cooler systems
    • Seasonal preparation and maintenance of ice machine, back-up generator and other essential items for tours
    • Spruce up facilities for Spring season
    • Paint parking and median lines in parking lots
    • Hang Christmas lights and other seasonal decorations when assistance is needed
  • Projects
    • Develops concept plans and material costs for proposals and submits purchase orders for approval on minor construction projects
    • Secures permits as required by city ordinances
    • Installs doors, windows, trim, cabinets, flooring, light fixtures and switches, cubicles, toilets, and sinks; performs other construction work within skillset
    • Hires general contractors and subcontractors as needed; establishes work parameters, secures bids, interviews and hires companies based on price and timeliness of projects; oversees work being done to ensure it meets company expectations
  • Responsible management of company credit card
    • Adheres to credit card limits and protocol as established by company
    • Submits receipts and accurately records information within the credit card application (Visa Intellilink)
    • Submits purchase orders and receives approval within company guidelines
    • Makes repair decisions based on company needs and budget restrictions
  • Assist Trail Maintenance department when needed and as time allows
  • Demonstrates outstanding teamwork, communication and collaboration
  • Special projects as requested by management

  • Must be able to handle basic construction tools
  • Must be able to walk in and around the community to meet employees at different locations and meet with contractors or service providers as needed
  • This position will involve sitting, standing, lifting, driving, use of power tools and heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to reach overhead, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs

Work Environment

  • This position works both inside and outside of the office job with exposure to weather conditions
 
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in plumbing, construction, landscaping, handyman, or other building repair & maintenance trade
  • Skills Needed:
    • Basic maintenance and repair skills, general handyman – required
    • Basic carpentry skills and cabinet installation – required
    • Plumbing basics – required
    • Evaporative Cooler basic seasonal prep – required
    • Painting – interior and exterior – required
    • Drywall taping and finishing - optional
    • Flooring – carpet and tile installation – optional
    • Roofing, concrete finishing, masonry, and stucco – optional
    • Welding and metal work – optional
  • Effective time management, prioritization and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills to find creative solutions for break/fix repairs
  • Strong team player that is self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Proficient computer experience a plus (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Email, CAD drawings)
