The Campaign Organizer works in the Organizing & Activism Unit of AIUSA and serves on a cross departmental team that is responsible for developing and implementing campaign strategy that will grow and engage AIUSA’s grassroots activist base and overall membership base, and increase human rights impact.



Co-create campaigns working with issue experts, government relations, public affairs, and members.

Ensure the interests and vision of impacted communities shape the work and elevate leadership within impacted communities and the broader public to help shape campaign goals, strategies, and tactics.

Develop outcome mapping for member engagement in helping to advance campaign goals and objectives.

Develop, strengthen, and nurture alliances and work in partnership with stakeholders.

Nurture volunteer leadership’s engagement in AIUSA’s campaign work.

Provide regular comprehensive updates on campaign progress to various stakeholders.

Plan and manage national campaign related events and support local event organizing as needed.

Support AIUSA’s Organizing & Activism Unit in building a grassroots activists-base that is engaged in AIUSA’s human rights work.

Raise awareness and provide instruction to activists throughout the country as needed.

Develop strategic and impactful actions that will advance campaign goals.

Assist in recruitment goals and ensure recruitment with new and existing audiences are achieved.

Develop and deliver campaign training modules for stakeholders.

Track and report on data and other metrics that advance campaign goals, objectives, and outcomes.

Ensure campaign work is integrated into state planning that is managed by Field Organizers.

Create tools and resources for use on the ground.

Develop and maintain AIUSA’s Activism Guide and expand audience participation.

Work in collaboration with AIUSA Organizing & Activism Unit to develop mobilization strategies to take action using a variety of tactics



Experience required:

Demonstrate experience in outcome mapping, monitoring, evaluation, and learning

Experience in community/field organizing and base-building

Experience in developing a campaign strategy built to engage a grassroots base

Experience in public speaking, training, and facilitating

Experience working on a multi-faceted project that has international, national and or state actors

Knowledge of global and domestic human rights issues

Skills required:

Diplomatic skills to obtain trust, cooperation, and understanding in order to resolve routine problems

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Creative design skills with experience using Adobe InDesign a plus

Knowledge of Google Suites, Outlook, HTML a plus

Knowledge of digital organizing tools a plus

Ability to work some weekends, weeknights, and travel 25% of the time
