Job Overview:

The Technology Design and Innovation Faculty is a dynamic and creative role that uses design thinking methodologies to foster innovation, design technology solutions, and drive forward-thinking initiatives within the organization. This position plays a crucial role in exploring, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge technologies to enhance processes, services, and user experiences.

This is a new position for our school. It will evolve in primary duties over the next few years until we are fully established in a new middle school setting at which point, it will be primarily a middle school position. For the next few years, flexibility and a true spirit of innovation as well as readiness and willingness to work with our Educational Technology Department across the school as needed will be important.

Works in the Educational Technology Department

 

Responsibilities:

  • Innovation Strategy:

    • Develop and implement an innovation strategy to drive technology advancements and enhance organizational effectiveness.

    • Collaborate with the Academic Leadership Team and Educational Technology Department to align innovation efforts with strategic goals of the department and the institution.

    • Utilize design thinking methodologies to create user-centric and impactful solutions.

  • Curriculum Design and Instruction:

    • Teach and co-teach classes with technology.

    • Collaborate with faculty to develop technology-integrated lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and educational technology competencies and skills.

  • Research and Trend Analysis:

    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

    • Conduct research to identify opportunities for technological innovation.

  • Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with grade level teams, departments, and faculty and other stakeholders to facilitate ideation sessions.

    • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation by encouraging idea generation.

  • Technology Integration:

    • Work closely with Educational Technology Department Chair, Chief Technology Officer and Infrastructure Support Specialists to ensure seamless integration of innovative solutions into existing technology infrastructure.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify integration requirements and challenges.

  • Design and Innovation Space

    • Assist in research and design of a state-of-the-art Design and Innovation space in a new educational building.

Qualifications

 

Interested candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. Previous experience in a K-12 school setting is preferred.  Experience with Google Workspace and Apple products is required. Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively with all community constituents including faculty, students, and parents.  

 

Working Conditions

  • Work day from 7:45 to 3:45 p.m. The time required to perform this job may extend to hours outside department hours to include evenings and occasionally weekends.

  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
