Maryland Auto Insurance seeks candidates to fill part time, contractual role in our IT Internship Program. This is a part time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer.


The IT Research Analyst Intern is designed for college juniors and seniors for seeking entry into the business world.  This position will provide a thorough understanding of the technology functions of an automobile insurance entity to include theory and practical application of attained knowledge.


Job duties include:

  • Assist in research on new technologies to be utilized by Maryland Auto in the future.
  • Develop prototype solutions for various Project Management Office pending projects.
  • Work with business units to document various manual functions.  Analyze and recommend automation solutions.
  • Assist with other ongoing modernization initiatives.
  • Learn and develop skills in software development, life cycle (SDLC) and Project Management
  • Assist staff in documenting processes and procedures.


Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualified applicants will possess strong analytical skills and an understanding of databases such as Mysql or Oracle.  Should also be comfortable with project management principles.  Experience with Microsoft Power Bl would be a plus.  Must be able to work independently, yet have interpersonal skills needed to work in a team based environment.  Ideal candidates will be energetic, organized and have a passion for technology.  Position will report directly to the IT Director.




This position does not supervise other employees. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with the core work hours being 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flextime may be available with prior supervisory approval.
