Location:  Big Thought HQ 

Reports to: Sr. Director, Learning Systems 

Department: Programs & Learning Systems 

Position Type: Full time/Exempt  

Supervision: Yes

About the Role:

The Community & Partner Specialist is responsible for the identification, outreach, cultivating and maintaining programmatic partnerships with cultural, educational, and other community-based agencies.

About the Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in both independent and team-based work environments. They should be detail-oriented, consistently complete tasks in a timely manner, and align their work with project goals and deadlines.

What the Role Entails:

  • Propose, organize, and execute community engagement strategies, projects, and events  
  • Develop, design, and deliver resources and new programs opportunities directly to families  
  • Identify key community partners in various communities to foster partner relationships to engage in Big Thought based programs 
  • Facilitate community conversations to educate organizations on community outreach 
  • Communicate and liaise with other departments for consistency of our brand’s representation 
  • Ensure necessary recordkeeping and reporting  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of directly related experience 
  • Knowledge of non-profit programming 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professional colleagues 

Physical Expectations (not an exhaustive list):

Big Thought jobs are hands on and can be physically demanding.  To perform the duties of these roles successfully, you may regularly be required to: sit, stand, or stare at computer screen for long periods of time; participate in external activities; use various office equipment, some manual; work in environment with loud sounds, multiple distractions, and interruptions; be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures on occasion; maintain emotional control during stressful situations.
