The Electrical Engineer Lead will be an important team player who can handle electrical hardware design as well as writing firmware.  They will be interfacing with the customer as well as others on the Engineering team and various Vectorform departments. 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Define project processes and technical standards that will enhance the effectiveness of the HW teams execution
  • Develop and review estimates 
  • Define and assign tasks 
  • Provide technical guidance to the team and facilitate root cause analysis
  • Communicate technical project status to management and stakeholders
  • Support sales team with RFPs, RFIs, SOWs and presentations
  • Design electronic hardware and printed circuit boards
  • Write embedded firmware
  • Write design specifications
Qualifications

What’s Necessary:

  • Experience in estimating small and large projects
  • Proficiency in using a multimeter & oscilloscope
  • Comfortable soldering surface mount components
  • Proficiency in C/C++
  • Knowledge of IoT hardware and firmware, especially with Bluetooth and Wifi
  • Analog/Digital Design
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to think quickly on how to effectively address issues when they arise
  • Ability to implement effective risk mitigation plans to avoid impacting delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - Able to lead project teams, fostering team cooperation with clients, vendors and VF team members
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi and Linux based systems

Icing on the Cake:

  • Radio and Antenna design experience
  • Experience using Altium Designer
  • Experience with audio PCB design, audio processing and speech recognition
  • Experience with traditional DSP and Machine Learning
  • Experience with vehicle networks such as CAN and J1850

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • 7-10+ years electrical/electronic hardware design experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading a team of engineers
