Eastside Prep is seeking an Swing Shift Facilities Support team member to help us fulfill our mission to guide students to think critically, act responsibly, lead compassionately and innovate wisely. All qualified candidates will be added to our pool of professionals and contacted as needed.

Job Summary:

Studies have shown students and employees perform significantly higher in clean, well-maintained spaces.  The Facilities Department supports the EPS mission by creating safe, clean and efficient spaces where students and staff are inspired to create their best work.  This role requires an individual to be adaptable and work in a team setting as well as independently.  The Facilities Department is seeking this type of self-motivated individual to join our team and help us support the school’s mission.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work shift from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. weekdays
  • Is a positive ambassador for EPS – communicates positively about the school internally and externally
  • Executes tasks efficiently and punctually
  • Works to build positive relationships across all departments
  • Demonstrates professionalism through words, actions, and appearance
  • Brings to management’s attention topics of importance and concern real-time
  • Considers and suggests potential improvements to processes and deliverables
  • Action oriented steward of department best practices
  • Set up, reset and thorough cleanup of events
  • Daily litter and trash removals
  • Maintaining clear walkways
  • Removal of snow and ice from walkways as needed
  • Frequent restroom cleaning per department standards
  • General maintenance such as soft and hard surface cleaning, pressure washing, drain cleaning
  • Exterior cleaning of windows, benches, cement, and trash cans
  • Using situational awareness and sound judgement to identify potential hazards
  • Utilize the school’s CMMS platform to execute work orders and close out tasks in a timely fashion
  • Complete assigned trainings on time
  • Cleaning the cafeteria during and after meals and events
  • Performs regular annual, semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly equipment inspections
  • Carries out basic maintenance and repair tasks
  • Works collaboratively in a team-environment
  • Participates in regular reviews and adjusting based on feedback
  • Ensures event/meeting spaces are clean and reset on regular basis throughout the day
  • Ensures campus is always safe and alerts the supervisor of any findings
  • Assists with daily security/safety presence on campus and on weekend rotation as needed
  • Assists with vehicle bus and shuttle fleet cleanliness
  • Traffic safety management and crossing guard duties
  • Completes routine inspections and maintenance as assigned by supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong people skills; ability to work around students of varying ages, faculty, parents, and other team members
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust based on feedback leading towards lasting change
  • Demonstrated ability to work occasional weekends as needed
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate with faculty and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and work with a team for solutions

 

Credentials and Experience

  • Experience working with students and in schools is a plus
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work, holidays, and weekends as required
  • Experience in custodial, landscaping, maintenance, and remodel work a plus

 

Compensation

  • Hourly pay $22-$26 per hour.
