Job Summary:  Arc of Acadiana is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our expanding accounting team. The ideal candidate would be a self-starting professional with strong computer, analytical, problem-solving skills and would have extensive double-entry accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Position:

• Analyze and interpret data and properly prepare general ledger entries.
• Maintain supporting schedules for prepaids, accruals, and amortized expenses.
• Maintain organized and detailed documentation to support financial transactions.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Collaborate with accounting team and management to meet department and organization objectives.
• Assist with external audit preparations.
• Balances multiple demands, prioritizes tasks, and retains clear focus.
• Communicate effectively internally and externally.
• Assist with research, development, and implementation of new accounting processes.
• Assist with special projects, as necessary.

Requirements and/or Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Bachelor, Associate, or Accounting Certificate beneficial.

• Demonstrates understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong math acumen.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of confidentiality protocols and a commitment to protecting sensitive information.
• Ability to focus on specifics while also understanding the broader context and implications of a situation, project, or task.
• Adaptable to change.
