POSITION SCOPE

A Product Manager at Andrews McMeel is responsible for establishing a clear and viable vision and strategy for digital products built on data, business needs, and inspiration. They safeguard the intent of the product, establish its value to the company, and identify how it meets the demands of the business and the users. The Product Manger effectively synthesizes various inputs to guide design and development, and builds road maps, KPIs, and reports.

This position will be responsible for working closely with various clients and creators to help them realize their vision for these products in a manner that delivers value to the business and end-users through successful management and execution of the product roadmap. This position will communicate with the clients through all phases of the product lifecycle to address their continued input and to keep them informed of changes and performance of the products.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform market research to understand audience
    • Establish and evangelize product vision
    • Define scope of projects
    • Set and communicate goals
    • Build and document requirements
    • Develop strong working relationship with client and balance their goals and expectations for the product with those of the business and end-users
  • Development skills
    • Communicate vision, goals, and status throughout projects
    • Lead cross-departmental, multi-disciplinary teams
    • Resolve and prioritize issues
    • Keep client and business stakeholders up to date with status of projects and work with them to resolve issues as they arise
  • Delivery skills
    • Establish and report on KPIs regularly
    • Build and adjust road maps continually
    • Perform frequent user research
    • Work with client to ensure final product meets their needs and all partners are trained on the product, as applicable
    • Deliver value for the business and engaging experiences for end-users

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding of KPIs directly impacting digital products
  • Strong leadership and management experience
  • Experience hitting revenue/metric targets on a live product
  • Desire to create and build new businesses and establish new IP
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability with attention to detail
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects on tight deadlines
  • Track record of complex and creative problem-solving
  • Self-starter, able to identify obstacles and work through solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing trust and strong relationship with clients, both digital savvy and not

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital product management
  • 5-7 of digital experience
