Job Purpose: In collaboration with senior leadership, shape and execute the traditional and online marketing, email, promotional and social media strategy in line with the organization’s strategic and program requirements of SPCA Tampa Bay.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Essential Functions:

  • Create all fee-based registration forms to promote and secure online payments for public participation in organization's donor programs and events.
  • Develop digital initiatives, stories and campaigns, ensuring brand presentation and messaging for SPCA Tampa Bay programs including the Veterinary Center, utilizing but not limited to the website, Google Ads (paid and grant), Google Analytics, digital applications and other marketing touch points.
  • Design and create informative, engaging online content targeted toward a variety of audiences in the form of blogs, flyers, posters, editorials, scripts, social media posts, print and digital ad copy.
  • List community events on our website, community and media event calendars and other digital media.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to enhance outreach by contacting the media with animal story ideas.
  • Coordinate with Philanthropy staff to develop event digital marketing plans, and creative elements to meet virtual and onsite event’s timeline and goals.
  • Assist in storytelling and writing copy pertaining to events, initiatives, guest columns, blogs and newsletters.
  • Ensure website content is up-to-date, functioning and secure. Lead troubleshooting efforts and innovations. Acts as a point of contact with contractors to facilitate regular maintenance, updates, domain & web hosting management, forwarding services and security certificates.
  • Create and implement outreach, organic and paid campaigns on social networks including Facebook, LinkedIN, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Monitor organization profiles, social media comments and messages using online business accounts such as visual content management, cloud storage, social platforms, client communication, website/domain management and listings GoogleMyBusiness and Gmail.
  • Create/edit emails, landing pages to support storytelling and implement A/B testing on email campaigns Utilize more sophisticated methods of campaign performance analysis using tools such as Google URL Builder and consistent landing page use among assets. 
  • Maintains the organization’s brand, image and identity.
  • Provide friendly, responsive and personalized customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in required meetings and trainings.
  • Professionally represent SPCA Tampa Bay at all times.

Nonessential Functions:

  • All other duties as assigned.



Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred

Licensure or Certification:

Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record.


  • Three to five years of experience working in a computerized office environment, including extensive data entry, maintaining detailed project files, and composing and preparing materials.
  • Working familiarity with Wordpress, Google Ads, major social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

Demonstrated Competencies:

  • Comfortable with public-facing meetings and interactions with donors/constituents.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with database and CRM tools such as Virtuous.
  • Ability to provide excellent service and care for customers and animals.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to respond quickly to change.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Physical Demands:

  • Light physical effort — regularly lifting or moving less than 25 pounds.
