Position: Full-time/Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy

 

Salary: Commensurate with degree and experience

 

The Department of Occupational Therapy at Methodist University seeks highly qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track appointment to begin January, 2021. The position includes teaching graduate level occupational therapy courses, with priority selection given to those applicants with expertise in multiple areas of occupational therapy practice, to include: mental health, cognitive rehabilitation, and/or assistive technology. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidates will be expected to provide service to the University as well as to the community and develop an agenda relative to research and/or scholarly activity.

Qualifications

Doctorate in occupational therapy or related field (enrollment in a terminal degree program may be considered if completion is expected before June 2021) with evidence of scholarly activity. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers to develop, facilitate, assess, and document learning in doctoral-level OT students. Appointment at the Assistant/Associate level is possible based upon qualifications.

The successful applicant will possess and maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of evidence-based inquiry and application as it applies to the professional education of occupational therapists and contemporary clinical practice. National registration through NBCOT and be licensed (or eligible) through the State of North Carolina as an occupational therapist is required. Minimum of three years’ prior experience working full-time as an occupational therapist is required.
