Who You Are:
We are looking for candidates who have:
- 2+ years of experience in the summer camp or experiential education industry.
- 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
- Enthusiasm and passion for directing summer camp programs for youth.
- Strong strategic planning skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and plan ahead effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and across departments with conflicting priorities
- Knowledge in science, social-emotional learning, and youth development; Experience in designing scientific thematic program curricula for young learners.
- Experience with facilitating equity, diversity, and inclusion training.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace. We especially encourage you to apply if you are a member of (or have extensive experience working with people from) any communities that are impacted by the historic and current system of oppression that has limited access to environmental education, or the outdoors in general.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in hiring, recruiting, training, and retaining staff.
- Wilderness First Responder and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certifications before starting employment.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, which can include training, academic courses, and work in the summer camp or experiential education industry.
