CRDF Global seeks an experienced Project Lead to support our efforts to build the capacity of partner governments and the private sector to enforce UN Security Council Resolutions (UNSCR) related to North Korea’s nuclear weapon and missile programs. Important stakeholders in UNSCR enforcement such as customs officials, industry regulators, compliance officers, IT security personnel, and others are required to take action to prevent North Korea from exploiting their activities to benefit its WMD programs. These capacity building engagements provide a tremendous benefit that enable stakeholders to translate UNSCR obligations into robust compliance systems. The portfolio would allow the Project Lead to grow their expertise on a range of counter-proliferation challenges such as cybersecurity, counter-proliferation finance, trade in luxury goods, maritime and illicit shipping, and others. Under the supervision of the Program Manager and in consultation with the funders and international partners, the Project Lead will apply best practices in project management to coordinate the technical subject matters, financial and budget requirements, and administrative aspects of this large, complex portfolio of activities to ensure CRDF Global, its partners, and the funder can advance international nonproliferation goals and create a more peaceful world. The capacity building activities may include working with lead subject matter experts to convene trainings, workshops, and conferences in both in-person and virtual learning environments as well as grant-making, research competitions, and other activities.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have exceptional communication skills, strong project and financial management skills, attention to detail and organizational skills, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and be capable of meeting tight deadlines. The Project Lead will work within the CBRNE Security and Nonproliferation Division, which consist of a combination of Program Managers, Project Leads, Project Associates, Grant/Procurement Managers, Travel/Logistics Managers, and Interns.
Major Responsibilities:
- Designs and executes projects using project management best practices that include development and use of statement of work, project charter, work breakdown structure, communication plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, and budget; prepares and submits reports and proposed modifications if necessary.
- Manages planning, implementation, technical and financial reporting of projects to meet the stated agreement and project objectives.
- Participates in managing stakeholder relations and networking with funders.
- Develops concepts and new project ideas as part of proposal development process.
- Travels to represent program or projects at external events, including internationally.
- Ability to work in a team environment and support other programs and staff, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
