The Director of Business Development will oversee and be responsible for the US Business Development team.  This role will establish directives, support and leadership for the teams focus. This role will also develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers and/or programs and obtain new customers. The successful candidate will have demonstrated industry relationships and a technical ability to interface with several levels of vocations. This key position will be responsible for establishing and meeting forecasted goals within their account base. The candidate will be responsible for flowing these goals down to the team, tracking individual progress towards these goals, and for holding individual team members accountable for achieving their portion of the overall goal.

Essential Functions Statement(s); Under the Direction of Group Executive Leadership:

  • Maintain personal contact with all customers
  • Develop new customers within the Aerospace market
  • Develops sales objectives, plans and strategies for review and approval of immediate supervisor
  • Flow goals down to individual team members, monitor progress, and hold team members accountable to set objectives.
  • Recommends pricing strategies for key assigned customers
  • Adapt and promote best in class practices, foster collaboration, ensure smooth implementation of solutions and build the overall capability of the organization
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Other business development duties as assigned


Competency Statement(s)

  • Demonstrated success in all functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused manufacturing environment is essential. Must be hands-on capable of effective project management, and implementing tactics to drive Company initiatives in a time sensitive manner

Education: Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or Engineering

Experience:  Minimum of 15 years of business development experience with recent experience supporting complex manufacturing organizations and direct business development experience with a variety of aerospace companies; composites background preferred

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including Excel and Word; familiarity and understanding of CRM systems

Certificates and Licenses: None

Other Requirements: Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience a plus. Extensive business travel, with the ability for short notice and extended travel may be required
