We are seeking an exceptional Director of Service Dog Training to lead our Service Dog team to become the best in class Service Dog training program in the world.


This person will ensure that Southeastern Guide Dogs is recognized as the center of excellence for training service dogs for veterans with PTSD and other disabilities. This position will provide the leadership to continue to perfect the quality of service dog inventory to meet the increasing needs of our qualified applicant pool.  This position will closely collaborate with Director, Admissions and Alumni Support in the final determination of student selection, student match, class ready dogs and post-class follow-up. In addition, this position will collaborate with Director of Guide Dog Training to determine the best career path for our dogs in training.



Qualified candidates will posses the following:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership position. 
  • Strong ability to motivate individuals to deliver results.
  • Certified service dog training pursuant ADI standards.
  • Experienced in dog behavior, principles of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management (RelDog, Dog Perfect, Avimark, IWDR preferred)
  • Must be able to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
