  • Generous hourly PCA pay rate of $18/hr (Level 1) and $20/hr (Level 2) per hour

 

SCHEDULE:

  • PCAs will work on all student days, full day, during the school calendar year. 
    • Flexible schedule to consider PCAs who can work 2-3 days per week as sub PCAs!
  • General school hours approximately: 7:30am - 2:30pm (secondary) or 8:30am - 3:30pm (elementary)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - PCA LEVEL 1 ($18.00/hour):

  • Directly supports the students at the direction of the teacher and the special education supervisor
  • Provide instructional, behavioral and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students. Including, but not limited to, the use of assistive technology, on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, toileting and self-care skills
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
  • Collect daily data and document progress notes in a prescribed format for each session with the child/adolescent
  • Personal Care Assistants (PCA) – Level 1 will receive trainings to meet the specific needs of the students and schools served

 

QUALIFICATIONS - PCA LEVEL 1: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting preferred

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - PCA LEVEL 2 ($20.00/hour):

  • Directly supports the students at the direction of the teacher and the special education supervisor
  • Support of students requiring intensive behavior supports (i.e. self-injurious behaviors, verbal and physical aggression)
  • Provide instructional, behavioral and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students. Including, but not limited to, the use of assistive technology, on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, toileting and self-care skills
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
  • Collect daily data and document progress notes in a prescribed format for each session with the child/adolescent
  • Personal Care Assistants (PCA) – Level 2 will receive trainings to meet the specific needs of the students and schools served

 

QUALIFICATIONS - PCA LEVEL 2: 

  • Minimum two-years of post-secondary education 
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting preferred

  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
