Summary

An Aqua Fit Instructor is responsible for educating members on the safe and proper execution of aquatic exercises, while in the water. Class times vary and are held mornings around 9:00am and evenings around 6:30pm.

 

Areas of Responsibility

Support, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goals
Attend department meetings and continuing education classes to keep certifications current
Help keep the center well-stocked and really clean
Keep all equipment in good working condition

Knowledge of emergency procedures and water safety.

Ensures the safety of persons participating in individual or group aquatic programs.

Develops and builds authentic, positive relationships with members/participants and provides motivational

support and guidance.

Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

Enforces pool rules, policies, and procedures in a positive constructive manner.

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness and aquatics environment, picking up towels, Water bottles, etc.

Other duties and tasks as business and management dictates.

Qualifications and competencies:

Education:
Nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification
Qualifying Instructor certification
CPR/AED and First Aid certification

 

Experience:
1 year teaching experience preferred.

  • Work in a Fitness Center/Community Center and typical business office environment
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to teach & Demo outside of the water on the pool deck, per AEA requirements.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing,
    bending, reaching, swimming, and lifting.

 

This position is contingent upon the completion and cleared background check of a fingerprint and life scan assessment and Proof of Full Vaccination.
