The Automation Field Technician role is responsible for installing automated storage systems equipment at our customers’ sites in the USA and Canada. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, wire, configure and test automated storage systems, making and supervising the mechanical and electrical adjustments
  • Assist with the connectivity of the automation hardware to the software environment.
  • Resolve any electromechanical issues
  • Coordinate and manage small teams of workers at customers’ sites.
  • Create and provide scheduled quality reports and status reports regarding the project.
  • Communicate any issues that arise on site to the Project Manager.
  • Lead the final quality assurance and safety tests on installed equipment and complete all required documentation
  • Train customers on system and light maintenance operations
  • Provide scheduled preventive maintenance and on-demand corrective maintenance services to customers as needed
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans (mechanical and/or electrical).
  • Basic knowledge related to programming controls (Siemens Step7, TIA Portal…)
  • Ability to travel (mostly domestic and Canada) for work, nearly 100% of the time.
  • Responsible, results-oriented person who can be trusted to accomplish the established objectives of each project on time, safely, and with the highest degree of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work variable hours including weekend, night, and/or holiday work
  • Ability and willingness to lift, lower and carry objects up to 50 lbs., work from heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
