The Cultural Development & Wellness Center at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Human Trafficking Victim Advocate to join our team. We are committed to supporting victims of human trafficking and other crimes, particularly within immigrant and refugee communities. Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in Mandarin, Korean, or Vietnamese, as we aim to provide culturally relevant advocacy to those most in need.
The Victim Assistance Department provides free and confidential case management to all victims of crime in Colorado. The Bilingual Human Trafficking Victim Advocate is responsible for providing direct services and case management to victims of human trafficking. The advocate will network and outreach to system professionals as well as to the community; and administrative tasks such as record-keeping and report writing of client services and data. Under general supervision from Director of Victim Assistance/Grant Manager, this position must work well independently and with teams, while providing excellent, respectful, and confidential customer service and victim-centric skills. The Bilingual Victim Advocate will build relationships with various service provider agencies and advance a policy agenda within the criminal justice system or victim advocacy that will benefit the AAPI, immigrant, and refugee communities in the Denver Metro Area.
Term-limited. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that may end on/around October 1, 2025 (longer if the grant extends). This position is grant funded and contingent on renewal of funding which we have successfully reapplied for in the past.
Schedule. This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and is eligible for a hybrid model that allows for a mix of remote and in-office work, with an expectation of being in the office one day per week at Alton Street and two-three days per week and at each of our satellite locations (Rose Andom Center, Denver and Porchlight Family Justice Center, and Jeffco) and working from home one-two days. This schedule may be adjusted based on training, client, or community needs.
$2,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible internal employees and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.
Based on full-time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on the first paycheck, 50% on the paycheck following 6-month anniversary.
Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency.

Employees will receive scheduled earnings bi-weekly, equivalent to 10% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $6,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).
Essential Functions:
- Provide case management and direct services for survivors of Human Trafficking and Exploitation
- May include but are not limited to crisis intervention, support, safety planning, and criminal justice advocacy based on victims’ needs and assessments.
- Have the ability to provide mobile advocacy as needed
- This position is required to be on call for the 24-hour crisis line on a rotating basis.
- Provide clients and their families with appropriate and available resources including housing support, employment resources, education and advocacy in criminal justice system/processes, and emergency funds.
- Oversee and maintain confidential client records.
- Work in collaboration and partnership with Denver Police Department and Denver District Attorney’s Office
- Provide weekly case updates to the Victim Assistance Manager/Grant Director.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with court, law enforcement, and victim assistance agencies.
- Occasionally work weekends and late nights
- Conduct outreach presentations for diverse AAPI and other marginalized communities in CO to raise awareness about victims’ rights and available services for human trafficking victims.
- Provide cross-cultural training for law enforcement, victim assistance agencies, hospitals, schools, and government agencies.
- Provide coverage at primary VAD offices as well as satellite offices as need.
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and evaluating progress towards program/grant goals and objectives.
- Provide appropriate referral information to victims.
- Attend and participate in training opportunities directly related to the position as they are made available.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the Director of Victim Assistance.
- Expected travel time 65%, mileage reimbursement is available.
