Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing various professional HR-related duties and ongoing projects.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits billing and administration, training, HRIS (Paycom) administration/reporting, AAP/EEO administration, company events planning/implantation, employment law compliance, and other areas as required.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the VP of HR and the Sr. HR Generalist to create and implement training modules for the company.

  • Administers HRIS system (Paycom), provides reporting as required, and has expertise with Paycom developing partners.

  • Performs benefits administration including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.

  • Conducts new employee orientations while ensuring employee tasks are completed and documented.

  • Maintains and submits annual AAP and EEO data for reporting.

  • Responds to RFP requests utilizing AAP or EEO information as needed.

  • Provides backup for Sr. HR Generalist in Leaves tracking and worker’s compensation claims as needed.

  • Assist with and tracks award applications for corporate awards annually.

  • Responsible for weekly HR Metrics reporting.

  • Plans and implements various HR projects and events throughout the year.

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • Assists with recruitment screening and HRIS posting/conversions as needed.

  • Maintains personnel files.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience handling a wide variety of functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in HR, management, business administration, psychology, or related field and combination of experience.
  • HRIS expertise in Paycom required, including reporting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, including leave of absence administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, relationship building and partnering skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information with absolute integrity at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and act with appropriate urgency.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office, e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply effective judgment and objectivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification of PHR, SHRM-CP.
  • Experience managing Human Resources projects and initiatives.
  • Experience managing compliance with EEO/AA laws and obligations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods of time, including at a computer.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
